Our Story
Why Align
Exists
We've seen hockey from all sides of the recruiting process.
As players, we competed at high levels and learned how difficult it can be to earn roster spots and advance.
Later, we moved to the other side of recruiting, spending more than a decade as GMs, coaches, and scouts evaluating talent, recruiting players, building teams, and making decisions about who advanced.
Working closely with advisors during those years showed us another side of representation. We saw what information mattered to coaches, what made them want to learn more about a player, and what often left them with an incomplete picture.
That shaped our belief that representation should go beyond introductions and promotion. Coaches need to understand the complete player: their game, character, potential, and what they could bring to a program.
We built Align to provide the kind of representation we valued when we were the ones making the decisions.

Paul Taylor
Co-Founder | Lead Advisor
Paul competed at the junior, NCAA Division I, and professional levels before moving into coaching and hockey operations.
As a General Manager and Head Coach at the junior level, he recruited players, built championship teams, and made the roster decisions that shaped them.
Having experienced recruiting from both the player and team side, Paul understands what coaches value, what earns trust, and what players need to succeed at higher levels.
Rogan Butler
Co-Founder | Lead Advisor
Rogan competed at the AAA and junior levels before moving into coaching and scouting.
As a regional scout and Director of Scouting at the junior level, he identified and evaluated talent and helped players move into higher levels across North America.
Years spent scouting gave Rogan a strong understanding of how to assess potential, recognize where a player can add value, and identify the right situations for continued growth.
